Locking and loading...

If you haven't assembled your camera yet, don't worry: it's a pretty easy operation (I'm assuming you bought the camera that comes with a lens {called a "kit lens"}).

The primary warning I would give you is that you should avoid getting dust or other stuff inside your camera. Even a little dust can end up on the sensor where the image is captured and can cause little spots to appear in your pictures. Getting the sensor clean is no party (although quite do-able) so be careful.

The first time you take the cap off the camera body and place the lens, try to do it in a place where there's not a lot of wind or other moving air. Assembling your camera in a sand storm is strictly verboten.
